This large common opal is unusually translucent, and has a mixture of olive green, clear, black and maroon colors. It is very glossy and shiny. The outer layer (Under 1 inch of non-gem material is a bit crumbly, but all the solid gemmy material should retain shape just fine. The opal ranges from very translucent to somewhat translucent, and the thick band of green opal has cool wavy patterns in it. Recommend using in the rock garden or displaying as is. Most likely collected in Central WA pre-1950's.
