Finding contentment as my state of being is something I aspire to, though the truth is, I often feel restless and find myself seeking more. But that’s okay for now — I’m happy with the aspiration itself.

Still, I do cherish those moments when I am truly content and I’m grateful for the many I get to experience. On the day this photo was taken, I was in that happy space. It was a Saturday, the sun was shining, I was enjoying a walk around the lake in Canberra with a good cup of coffee in hand, and I was in the company of a fabulous person. 😊

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in Canberra, especially spending precious time with my beautiful 20-year-old child. 💖

My visits to Canberra began more than 20 years ago when I would make an annual trip to visit galleries, museums and take a break from Sydney. Except for two occasions, I’ve always stayed at @hyattcanberra.

Each return visit has been a pleasure and I’ve come to love its 1920s charm, enhanced by touches of modern Art Deco, its spacious and quiet rooms and of course, the fabulous location near Lake Burley Griffin.

Thank you again @hyattcanberra for yet another wonderful stay, and congratulations on 100 years of style and elegance! 💖

My “throw it together” look almost always includes a blazer. Over the years, I’ve built quite the collection - it’s one of those things, like gorgeous shoes, that I can never resist adding to my wardrobe.
No regrets though! The blazer has become one of the most versatile and worn pieces in my closet, second only to my white shirts. This outfit is definitely one of my happy ones, designed by the beautiful Nadia Bitar @frommykonoswithlove. I picked it up in a little boutique in Santorini while on holiday with my daughter in 2019. I was hesitant to try it on at first, thinking the pants might overwhelm me (I’m 164cm), but with a chunky platform sandal, it works! It’s a one-off piece made from a cotton fabric designed by Nadia herself.
I’m still loving it and wearing it in 2024, here at home in Sydney. 💙

Holiday shopping is such a joy for me! I’m very discerning with my purchases and it’s been so rewarding to have these pieces to cherish, along with the beautiful memories they bring. ✨

I’m still polka dotting… and not about to stop! I’ve just added a new black-and-white polka dot dress to my collection, and I’ll be posting it on IG very soon 😊

It seems I have a slight obsession with black-and-white polka dots, and I’m totally okay with it!
Why? They make me smile every time I see them, and I feel a little bubble of joy every time I reach for one of my polka-dot pieces.

The word ‘obsession’ often carries a negative connotation, and yes, some obsessions can be harmful. But there are many that enhance our lives. At the top of my list is my obsession with life itself — with living it to the fullest. Fully immersing myself in its joy, rather than just dipping my toe in. Filling every moment to the brim with love, passion, kindness, wisdom, excellence, curiosity, growth... Ahhh, the list of healthy obsessions is long. ❤️

Sorry, I had to say it...
I’ve just reached that moment when things aren’t just crazy busy, it’s bordering on chaotic. 😬
I’m gritting my teeth and holding my breath, which, let’s be honest, isn’t great for my health or anyone around me. Then, I remembered, I have a Pause Button and it’s time to press and hold it for a bit.

Years of experience have taught me that the Power of the Pause is crucial, especially at this time of year. To my surprise, in 2024, I’ve found it easier - and even more rewarding, perhaps because I’ve been using the PB regularly. Practice really does make perfect.

Pressing the pause button regularly means you can take a well-deserved breather. It gives you an opportunity to refocus, reset, and take a moment to check in with yourself - how you’re feeling, what you need, and how to prioritise the things that bring you joy, meaning and connection. ❤️

For me, it’s how I reconnect with my inner self and calm the storm around me. Once I press the play button again, I’m able to move forward with deeper mental clarity and a renewed, replenished zest for life. ✨

I don’t know about you, but I cant’t keep up with sneaker trends. I swear they are changing daily, if not weekly. I have been wearing sneakers since I was a child and yes the classic Adidas sneaker white with 3 navy stripes was my very first pair. I was 13, the year was 1975 and they were $19.99AUD, which was a substantial amount of money back then. The only reason my mother agreed to them was because they were leather, good for my feet and I promised to clean them myself. I did clean them and my feet are OK 🙂

I wore sneakers as a fashion statement through my teens, then switched to loafers and brogues in my early 20s. It wasn’t until the 2000 that I returned to the sneaker game, treating myself to a pair of white Gucci sneakers with red and green accents while traveling in Europe. I spent about $300 on them and they were absolutely worth it—but I haven’t gone down that high-end road since.

Now, when I buy new sneakers, comfort is a must. If they’re not comfortable, what’s the point? Then it’s all about colour (white, mostly) and style—though I don’t follow trends. I need to love them and they have to work with my feet and whatever I’m wearing that day. 👟✨

So, could I live without sneakers? Not a chance. 💁‍♀️

I’m currently on a long stretch of work, more work, with a little play, as I save my time and pennies for an amazing trip in May next year.

I’m really excited, especially since I’ll be spending most of my time with my 20-year-old child while she’s on exchange in Scotland. One of the top items on her “We Must Do This Mum” list, is hiking in Morocco. With careful planning, I think it’s doable!

I love the thrill of delayed gratification and anticipation!
Meanwhile, to get me through the next seven months, I’m indulging in mini day breaks. Last week, I enjoyed walking around some fancy boats ... it was fun and a great change of scenery.

Life often brings waves of challenges and distractions, swirling in our minds like a tempest. After a week filled with distractions and racing thoughts, I’m craving a few days of stillness to seek zen amidst the chaos.

What to do?

First up, I’m pressing the pause button.
I’ll take a few mindful breaths, do some gentle stretching, and maybe journal my thoughts.
Walking and swimming are always soul-soothers, so they’re definitely on my list!
I also want to reconnect with myself and indulge in some nurturing self-care.

Or.... maybe I’ll keep it simple and treat myself to a spa day with an amazing masseuse.
Then, I’ll unwind with a glass of wine and a cozy movie night with my pup. 🍷🐾✨

I can always save the rest for another weekend!

I’m an absolute novice in modelling, having had my first shoot four years ago at 58. Since then, I’ve done a few shoots, but there’s not much demand for short (164 cm), 62-year-olds with dark hair that refuses to go grey. Yes, I’ve been dye-free for four years and am still waiting for my silver crown!

Tall, silver-grey models over 50 are what’s hot right now ✨
My favourite is @penny_hill_silvermodel—she’s gorgeous, real, a joy to spend time with and an absolute professional!

That said, I’m not discouraged. I do this for love, not for $$ (though I do appreciate the lovely pocket money!). It’s all about fun, creativity and meeting amazing people who share the same passion.
I have other work that pays the bills, and luckily, I enjoy that too.

In the world of fashion, there’s growing interest in age-inclusive modelling, especially in showcasing the unique beauty of women over 50. It’s exciting to see how style evolves with time, and I believe every woman deserves her moment to shine—whether she’s on a runway or just living her best life.

I’m all for changing things up now and then—it keeps everything fresh, especially when it comes to fashion! My latest discovery? Oversized dresses, or as I prefer to call them, “voluminous silhouettes.” Much more chic.

How do I style them? I like to pair the voluminous silhouette with standout accessories and keep the rest of the outfit simple, letting those pieces do the talking. For shoes, I go for a chunky wedge to ground the outfit, plus they are easier for walking around the city.
